Join us in a study on Raising a Family of Character. This study is geared toward parents who want to look at building character in our own lives and how to go about instilling that character in our children.
Class Meeting Time
Raising a Family of Character will begin on January 24, 2010 at 4:30 pm. We will be located in classroom 201 in the Family Life Center of FUMC. Please call the church at 580.482.0795 for more details or to enroll.
The Plan
The initial plan for this class is to do a 10 week program. We will study 9-10 different character qualities during that period. The class members will decide which character qualities are most important or interesting and we will focus on those qualities. After our initial 10 week class is up, the group will decide where we want to go next. The members as a whole will make the decisions on where the group will go from beginning to end!
Childcare
Childcare will be available in the church nursery for the full meeting time. Let us know how many kiddos you have so the nursery staff can be prepared!

Course Material
We will be using the book The Power for True Success: How to Build Character in Your Life from the Institute in Basic Life Principles. According to The Power for True Success, "The Institute in Basic Life Principles is a Biblically based, not-for-profit, nonsectarian training and service organization dedicated to serving families, youth, and leaders worldwide, through training in Biblical principles that bring true success in life." Since that pretty much sums up what we want to accomplish in this study, we felt this was an excellent choice for course material!
The Blog
This part of the course will set our group apart from most groups or classes you probably have been involved with in the past. The blog will give us an opportunity to come together throughout the week in a community of support. Here we will ask questions, make comments and come together in a way that will maximize our growth as we support each other!
So...WELCOME to Raising a Family of Character! Fasten your seat belts, make sure the kids are in their car seats and enjoy the RIDE!
